Ms. Kim Montero
Kim Montero is a dedicated Media Specialist at Oliver Hoover Elementary School, a proud A-rated school for 24 consecutive years. With 32 years of experience in education, she has devoted her career to supporting students and fostering a love of learning. Prior to her role in the media center, she taught kindergarten at North Miami Elementary and Caribbean Elementary, building a strong foundation for young learners.
A proud Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) alumna, Ms. Montero remains deeply connected to the community that shaped her educational journey. In addition to her role in the media center, she serves as her school’s Mindfulness Champion, promoting wellness, reflection, and a positive environment for both students and staff.
Ms. Montero is passionate about storytelling and believes in the power of books to inspire and transform. She takes great joy in making stories come alive for her students, creating engaging experiences that spark imagination and curiosity. Through her work, she strives to instill a lifelong love of reading in every child who walks through her doors.

A winner will be selected each week by the College Football Playoff Foundation based on nominations received. Winners will receive a $1,000 DonorsChoose gift card to use for classroom projects. Please note that only current M-DCPS teachers in good standing are eligible to win. To nominate a Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ teacher, you and the teacher you are nominating must BOTH be signed up on the Miami Loves Teachers website (see the home page sign-up) and have submitted the nomination form below. Please do not forget to sign up on the homepage!
