David Fairchild Elementary

For more than 15 years, I have had the privilege of helping elementary students grow, learn, and discover what they are capable of achieving. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and have taught students across grades K–4, working with a wide range of learners in general education, gifted, ESOL, and ESE settings. I am proud to serve the students and families of David Fairchild Elementary, a school community that has allowed me to grow not only as a teacher but also as a leader. Beyond my classroom, I have embraced opportunities to support STEAM education, educational technology, teacher mentoring, and professional development. At the heart of everything I do is the belief that children thrive when they feel seen, supported, and confident enough to take chances in their learning. Watching my students discover their strengths and realize, “I can do this,” continues to be one of the greatest rewards of my career.

Thank you for helping us celebrate M-DCPS’ amazing educators. The Teacher of the Week program will continue in the 2026–27 school year, with new opportunities to nominate deserving teachers. Teachers already nominated this year will remain eligible for consideration next school year.
