Teacher Spotlights

Thanks to The Education Fund's Innovator Grant
“Thanks to The Education Fund’s Innovator Grant, I was able to purchase 250 journals for my students, creating a safe space where they share their thoughts, dreams, and feelings while I write back to each one. These journals have become bridges that build trust and give my students a voice. Thank you for believing in teachers, in students, and in the power of education to create spaces where my students can dream, grow, and feel truly seen.”

Resiliency training gave me new tools
“The Education Fund’s resiliency training gave me new tools that work amazingly well with students. I regularly work with a student who has selective mutism and normally only gives one-word answers, but when I brought him to our school’s Food Forest, he started talking about the plants without any prompts from me. The Education Fund’s training has truly transformed how I connect with students.”

The best part of getting these supplies from The Education Fund Ocean Bank Center
“The best part of getting these free supplies is when you see the kids’ faces. I work at a low-income school, so they can’t even afford book bags. So when they see these bookbags, that smile means everything. I’m just so grateful for this warehouse because we’re changing the lives of not only teachers, but of students.”

Business volunteers bring real-world learning
“When business professionals visit our classroom through the Teach-A-Thon, they bring financial concepts to life in ways textbooks simply cannot. Students connect classroom learning to real-world applications, and many tell me years later how those lessons helped them make better financial decisions as young adults. It takes a village as they say, for us to really make a difference in the lives of our kids.”
